Gallery of Fine Art Photography - Atlanta GA

Current Exhibition – Vivian Maier: The Color Work

Now On View

EXTENDED Saturday March 23rd • 11am – 3pm

Location Unknown, May 1958

We are pleased to present our current exhibition.
Vivian Maier: The Color Work.

The exhibition coincides with the publication of Vivian Maier: The Color Work (Harper Design | HarperCollins, November 2018) the first book devoted to her color images. With a foreword by renowned photographer Joel Meyerowitz and text by Colin Westerbeck, a former curator of photography at the Art Institute of Chicago.

A selection of over thirty color images from the John Maloof Collection are available in the gallery. The images span from 1956 – 1979, and illustrate Maier’s exploration of the 35mm format, as she moves from her earlier Rolleiflex to the more nimble Leica.
