Contrasts
This exhibition highlights the contrasting styles and visual perspectives of over 30 master photographers of the 20th and 21st centuries. It includes classic themes such as abstractions, landscapes, portraiture and urban life.
In many cases, contrasting images from a single artist are shown. In other cases, the work of multiple photographers using a single subject or theme is used to show contrasting points of view. As always, Lumière emphasizes the artist who has created the work, his or her background, environment, people who influenced them, and available photographic technologies. This notion is reinforced by the film series. Each film provides an exclusive and personal view of the artist in their own words. Comments by the film producers will be included via live audio conference from their homes in San Francisco and Seattle.
Featured in this exhibition is the work of more than 30 photographers.
